The cathedral “Notre Dame” of Reims completed in 1275. Traditionally the kings of France was crowned there. September 19, 1914, towards 15h00, the Cathedral ignites following the violent ones bombardments whom the town of then several days undergoes.

The rebuilding was undertaken under the control of the architect Henri Deneux, with the assistance of generous givers,  in particular of American Foundations (Carnégie, Ford, Rockfeller). 25 years of work were necessary to return to the cathedral its magnificence of yesteryear.

To remember the time or Reims was named Durocorcorum, the “Porte Mars” , is the largest known Triumphal arch of the Roman world, it was built at the time Gallo-Roman.
